My Family: I am a thirty-something year old Harvard lawyer turned work at home mom. I have a wonderful family—my supportive husband and two adorable children, our talkative little boy (3.5) and our one year old girl. We also have two of the most entertaining, and poorly-behaved, terriers I’ve ever seen.
My Story: My decision to “mama track” my career was one of the hardest of my life. Before giving birth, I was an ambitious and promising associate for a Washington, D.C. law firm. But the birth of my son changed everything. I dreaded returning to work. Because I had worked so hard to establish myself professionally, though, I went back to the office after my maternity leave was over. I was miserable—leaving my son every day was agony. So after a lot of soul searching (and a little therapy), I decided to stay home with my son and practice law on a very part-time basis. Even though some days are hard, I couldn’t be happier with the decision. Now, I spend every day with my kids and share our crazy, funny, and poignant adventures here.
